So... my final day has arrived, for I leave Australia in the evening for the long flight home.

But Alex and June hadn't finished with me quite yet and took me to another of the large lakes in Perth, and their favourite too.

We'd just got out of the car when I spotted a little flock of Yellow-rumped Thornbills foraging round the trees lining the car park.

A brilliant start to your last day Delia. A wonderful colourfully taken shot you have of this little beaut, well done.

A delightful little bird, showing the brilliant yellow rump so well.

Well, what a trip you had. And you went just in time, the pandemic lockdowns and travel restrictions must be making it impossible now. Thank you for all the marvellous images you've posted (a large proportion of which I still haven't seen yet, so a treat lies in store). This was the bird holiday of a lifetime.
