thrush_silent spotted migrant_DSCN2710-cropped.jpg (Catharus or Hylochchla?)

At 10:56 AM on October 30 (2024), I noticed this solitary, silent, migrant "spotted thrush" when it was drawn out of the rockland hammock (native subtropical forest community) surrounding our home by an opportunity to drink clean freshwater from three birdbaths I had just disinfected and refilled. This thrush was definitely browner than a second, green thrush that visited the same baths two days later, also shared here at BirdForum.net.

You've made a wonderful start to your Gallery KL.

A shame we haven't yet got a name for your "spotted thrush" though. I'm wondering if they're all Hermit Thrushes (the lighting may account for the different looks). You can read more about them here: Hermit Thrush - BirdForum Opus.
