To roost
Well.... apparently the bird Hans was trying to get information about was Red-tailed Black Cockatoos. His new friends: husband said while they were often here he'd not seen them for a bit.

However, the contractor with him said that they flew over his house every evening on their way to roost just before dusk.

So he gave us instructions on how to get there and off we set.

We ended on a back lane on the edge of town with just a few houses along it. And waited.

They flew over in a few waves, but this was the clearest image I got, as far as ID was concerned. Hans was sure he'd seen some 'yellow-tailed' as well but the only one I got any colour on was this Red-tailed Black Cockatoo.

A nice illustration of his two defining features, D.
Your perseverance paid a handsome dividend. Well captured.

Worth the wait Delia. A brilliant bird to capture, and you have a wonderful flyby in a nicely framed shot, well done.
