Towhee with sparrows

To answer your question, admin., the towhee is larger than the sparrows, in this shot golden-crowned, but they share the same family, emperizine, so they are related. While the sparrows are easy to photograph, the towhee avoids the camera and is quite adept at hiding in the thickets.
Habitat
Open and woodlands
Location
Mariposa, Calif.
Date taken
March 8, 2016
Equipment used
Nikon Coolpix P80
Thank you for the photo and explanation. I didn't know that there are that colorful birds in the sparrow family.

A lovely picture of the Golden-crowned Sparrows with the gorgeous Towhee. The sparrows appear to be smitten with the Towhee (lol). Fantastic picture Bob!!!
