Tree-toed Woodpecker

On my holiday in east Norway in the mountains this was one of the best birds I got (together with Golden Eagle, Black Woodpecker, Siberian Jay, Black Grouse ecc)! I even managed to get very close as it was feeding on this gate post just outside the cabin!

Excellent, clean shot, not a species often seen on the forums either...here in North America we have a strikingly similar Three-toed Woodpecker...;)
