Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris)

No food at all out in the feedng station when I arrived yesterday. After filling the feeders I'd just got behind the viewing screen when a flock of 10 Long-tailed Tit arrived along with two Treecreeper. Only one Treecreeper went to the feeders though - sunflower hearts were it's choice today. Much more adept at eating them now. Picked one out flipped it around and swallowed it whole before grabbing another and flying off.

Thats an interesting piece of information Ian!! great catch, mine showed well for Pete and me Friday, but I had no chance with 100 mm macro, roll on tomorrow, I will stuff some hearts in the bark of the big Oak, and see what happens, cheers for the info Ian :t::t::t:

Brilliant capture of this very difficult to get bird! I just love it that your Creeper enjoys sunflower hearts. The one I have hanging about here seems to like the hot pepper suet I've been putting out for the Woodpeckers. My Creeper was here again yesterday abnd for some reason I can't seem to get sharp images of the eye area of this bird. I don't know if they are just too fast or the camera doesn't want to focus on them.LOL
