A very good poser seems to allow you to get up close but the 'guides' seem to dismiss this Bird why?

An excellent shot, but the histogram is bunched up to the left so it needs the levels adjusted properly to do it justice, RGB levels to 5, 1.08 and 230 makes a big difference!

I remember seeing them at point-blank range in the Senegambia hotel gardens in 1996. Rubbish photo gear in those days, unfortunately.
