Triple Downy delight!
No, this is not photoshopped! lol! I've been watching 2 males & 2 females constantly coming to the suet for a couple of weeks, and have tried to get a shot of 2 of them together, unsuccessfully, so when I happened to look out my window & saw these THREE lined up in a frozen pose I couldn't believe my luck!!! I believe the word is "chuffed"! :-O The only thing that would have made it better for me would have been some decent light, but couldn't expect them to wait that long(around here)! They often go into these "trances" if they hear large birds(lots of hawks here) in the area(also see the Nutties doing the same), & will stay completely motionless for fairly long periods of time, I actually timed one once & it sat still for 7 minutes! (of course none of those pics are any good :-( ) When I see them do that, I look all around for the predator & will sometimes see them across the field too far for my pitiful camera(never did get one for xmas, musta been worse than I thought last year! ;) ). Although I really missed my big chance when one day I saw a Downy "freeze", didn't see any in the field, turned to look out my front window & sitting in a small Maple about 25 ft from me was a HUGE red tailed hawk!!! Unfortunately, I too "froze" in awe :-O, and by the time I was able to fumble around with my camera he was gone, Needless to say, I will always have my camera ready when I see "frozen" Peckers & Nutties! (please excuse the lighting, focus, etc., I really just wanted to share ;) )

A very cool picture, especially with the great wintery scene. It sounds like a race tract, "Triple Downs". Great job!
