Tropical Kingbird
Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus satrapa) Three subspecies are currently recognized with only subspecies satrapa being mapped for Panama. An additional three subspecies have been described with all three of these subspecies being synonymized under subspecies satrapa. One of these subspecies is chloronotus which is the Panamanian entity. Photographed at El Chiru, Cocl Province, Panama. Mostly open disturbed pastureland with some small stands of planted trees at ca. 36 m (118 ft) elevation. Sexes similar.

A beautifully composed shot of this lovely bird. Excellent colours and detail and I like the remains of insects trapped in the spider's web. A wonderful image Stanley.
