Tufted Duck

Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula)

Males are strikingly black and white, with a long head tassel, but females such as this are mostly brown with only a rudimentary tuft. Both have bright yellow eyes and bright white wing linings as seen here. Iceland is the westernmost part of their breeding range which extends across northern Eurasia.

A lovely picture this Joe.... you've caught her colours beautifully.

I've never noticed so much white in their feathers before.

Excellent work here my friend.
