What a lovely day I had outside with my garden birds yesterday. It was pretty cold outside (15 to 20F) so there were lots and lots of birds in the feeders all day long. The populations of finches and Juncos are on the move again (KC hopefully some of these birds will make their way down to your house soon) I had about 45 Goldfinches in the feeders with many new Goldfinches that I hadnt seen in the feeders before including a lovely male with lots of yellow in his winter coat and even still sporting parts of his black cap. Our Goldfinches are quite variable in their winter plumage and I get to know many of the individual birds. The Northern Flicker was back and stayed around feeding for twenty minutes or more and I took quite a few shots of him that Im still sorting through. Ill try not to bore you all with too many of them in the coming weeks. LOL
Id moved the hide a couple days ago so I could easily see the clematis obelisk. (some of you probably remember it from previous winter photos) and the Tufted Titmouse were very obliging to perch there in the afternoon light filtering through the White Pines next door. Hope you enjoy!
