I've read that blue eyes aren't so much a colour as a lack of colour, which could explain why all human babies are born with blue eyes but only some retain them: the rest of us eventually develop they eye color we are destined to have. And I guess that goes for thrashers too.

Lovely shot KC, showing the detailed intricate patterning beautifully. On my monitor the eye looks a slightly greenish grey.
