Turtle Dove
This is another bird that's becoming quite scarce in the UK. I was pretty cheesed-off recently when I saw some of my Turtle Dove pics 'stolen' from my website and used on a Maltese Hunting forum with hunters scribbling and positively drooling with the possibility of claiming more kills of this absolutely stunning migratory dove - The symbol of peace indeed!
Habitat
Farmland
Location
Barbate, SW Andalucia, Spain
Date taken
June
Scientific name
Streptopelia turtur
Equipment used
Canon 50D +Canon 400L f5.6
Great image! Well Done!

Disgusting to hear about the photos being used by them in this way! Unfortunatly they continue shooting turlte dove and other migrants in spring although illegal. Next september they can kill them legally :(

I agree with Ausmar, totally disgraceful!!! I used to see these birds a lot in my younger days, a long time ago, but alas, I cant remember the last time I actually see one. Lovely image Steve.

A bird I would love to see! I too am sorry to hear about your stolen images! A lovely image of this handsome bird! :t:

A beautiful image. It is a shame that the short-sighted activities of hunters in Europe have speeded up the decline of this gorgeous species.
