Uninvited!

Uninvited! (Asio flammeus)

I came across this chap quite by chance whilst in the process of using my Ninja like skills, creeping up on a Vole sat on an old tree stump, washing his face...and looking ever so cute.

The furry little fellow suddenly froze and was staring at something behind me!.....the hairs on my neck were bristling with fear (silly old fool!) and I reeled round to meet my maker (a story of a Puma in the area sprang to mind....silly old fool!).

The Owl looked upon me with such a stern and scolding manner....(a look my Grandmother used to give me when she found me with my saliva smeared fingers in the sugar bowl!)....I quickly began to back away from the scene, now in the knowledge that I was NOT invited to dinner and should leave IMMEDIATELY.
