Unknown Bird
I was in my yard and he was high in the branches of a tree. I think I saw him the other week but I couldn't snare a picture. He doesn't come to the feeder. Why do certain birds come to feeders and others don't? I know this is a small picture but I would love your interaction on just what this bird species is?

Hi Daniel

Nice bird to capture in your yard - it's a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Polioptila caerulea. It's chiefly insectivorous so may not be tempted by your feeders.

I know that bird :D That's Bruce - the Blue-grey Gnatcatcher! Hi, Bruce! No, wait. Maybe it's his wife, Bertha. Oh well. I know the family, at any rate.

a gorgeous photo of this lovely gnatcatcher, Daniel, wonderful setting, top marks, many thanks for sharing!!!

Beautifully captured with that turn of the head. Congratulations on your newest sighting-if it is!
