Another from last evening. The light was fading fast so not great quality. Saw this american robin on the hunt in our yard, and when it got closer I noticed it's unusual colouring. Never saw one like this before. My first thought was a youngster moulting into its adult feathers, but they usually have a spotted breast, not white. The bird's back also had large patches of pure white that flashed quite noticably when it flew off. My wife saw the photo and said "That's pied!" I thought it might be some sort of bird leucism. I did some Googling and found another photo of a similar looking robin, and that person called it "partially albino". Whatever you'd call it, it was eye catching to say the least!
