Variable Oystercatcher's (Haematopus unicolor)

Used my usual trick of getting closer to these guys by crawling on my elbows holding the camera up but I had a short sleeved shit on and the sand and shells cut me to bits. Such pain for birdforum!
Scientific name
Haematopus unicolor
Great poses, detail, and exposure, Tom; great angle too. If I crawled on my elbows I'd never get up again ;)
