Variable Oystercatcher's (Haematopus unicolor)

Used my usual trick of getting closer to these guys by crawling on my elbows holding the camera up but I had a short sleeved shit on and the sand and shells cut me to bits. Such pain for birdforum!

Theres a word I haven't used in a few years "crawled" (lol). Brilliant close-up of this stunning Oystercatcher Tom. I hope your cuts healed up nicely. From my point of view it would have been worth it! TFS!!!!!
