Vermilion Flycatcher -- adult male

This bird inhabits a small territory near the horse corral at the edge of San Jose del Cabo estuary. It likes to sit on a barb wire fence and dart off to catch small flying insects. People walk along a path all the time but it flies off when anyone gets too close. It also likes to perch on several low hanging branches of some nearby trees which is where I took this shot. I've tried to creep on this bird many times to get a great close up and this was my best effort to-date.

Super little bird Memse, glad you persisted .... and posted the results. TFS

Three great shots! Lovely creatures! I have only seen one in my life, in extreme south Louisiana, in the late '60s, going to working offshore. Fine art, Memse! Thanks, Dan
