Vernal Hanging Parrot (Loriculus vernalis)

Was drawn to it by its loud call....did not stay long, but that was enough for me to fire off few shots!!! Shot this previously in Maredumilli forest in Andhra Pradesh...Dry deciduous forests of Eastern Ghats. Healthy numbers in Maredumilli! Easily spotted in the mornings when they perch on to the top most branches foraging for food!

Very striking bird with that big head, short tail, and bright green plumage - even if I can't hear the call.
