Verreaux's eagle owl (Bubo lacteus)

I haven't seen let alone photographed many owls. This was a staggering creature about 70 feet off the ground.

Nice image Peter, the pink eyelids are amazing.
We photographed a pair in their roost tree at Brufut. The day we were at Abuko this bird was only showing his feet & rear-end!
