Violet Cuckoo in action :) (Chrysococcyx xanthorhynchus)

While waiting for the Bornean Bristlehead to appeared, saw many birds flying around the tower and it was actually on eye level with some of the tallest trees in the world between 60 - 80 metres in height.

This fella was spotted singing for few minutes at one of the tree nearby hehehe. If I was down on the ground, won't be able to capture it because it feeds mostly on tree tops.

The Bristlehead was seen only on my very last day at Sepilok Forest Reserve after waiting for 4 days ! My client, John Edge from Portugal been here 2 times and wanted to complete his birds family of the world with this specie as one of his priority.

Thank God, we saw it before he flew back home hahaha at the feeding platform for the Orang Utan. We chased the bird from forest and eventually saw 3 on top of the tree and with the help of my scope, he managed to get good view of the bird :)

More info and pictures available in my blog at http://horukuru.blogspot.com

Tomorrow I will be off again with a travel writer cum birder from Australia until the 10th of May to Kinabatangan River, Tabin and Danum Valley Forest Reserve.
