Wasp-mimic Flowerfly (Spilomyia longicornis: Syrphidae) Also known as Yellowjacket Fly. 1.1-1.5 cm (0.4-0.6 in) long. Foraging on Calico Aster.
Habitat
Pineywood Vegetational Area. Bottomland hardwood forest, riparian at 97 m (318 ft) elevation.
Location
Neches River, Chandler Upper Neches Paddling Trail, southwest of Chandler, Henderson County, Texas, USA.
