Water rail (Rallus aquaticus)

Water rail - This was being chased by a mink. Those of you who guessed Marsh Harrier (Sat) were right it was NOT the buzzard. S&S it was a female. It did escape the marauding mink.
Habitat
Widely but thinly distributed as breeding birds across the UK, but absent from upland areas. Most abundant in Eastern England and suitable habitat along the south coast.
