Weekend view...
.. Knockie Walk.

A few months ago I showed you a picture of a different part of this walk, when I was up on the hill. Well this is the other end of the Knockie Walk, where is rises up from the river.

And I mean "rises up". I'd never done this bit before and goodness was it steep!!!

I'd intended to walk along the river, but there was so much damage from the flooding, part of the path was closed, and this was the detour! I was about half way up at this point and you can just see the river below.

Just before that turn where the railings are, I was crawling on my hands and knees, grabbing hold of tree roots!! It was a bit scary really.

The problem was that the ground was rather wet and there were fallen leaves, giving no grip. I was OK once I got to the railings.

Won't be repeating that exercise in a hurry!!;)

Whoa Delia, that makes me feel a bit queer, a bit of a fear of heights myself! Great capture though!

I think I could park myself there for an afternoon and enjoy. A lovely image D.

you are a treasure Delia. It can be almost as difficult going down a slope as it is going up at times. Looks like a great place. Brilliant shot, well done.

Lovely spot though, even if it was hard to get to. Great two-season view with the Spring leaves budding out and the Fall leaves appearing from under the snow at the same time :D Ahhh! My mistake. Just checked the date taken. Those aren't Spring leaves budding out. Just more Fall leaves but still showing greenish yellow, not yet turned brown and fallen. Oh well. Still a very pretty sight |=)|
