Western Bowerbird ( Carteri)
Taken at Yardie Creek in Cape Range N.P. W.A. This is the race Carteri .It is smaller and more russet toned than the race Guttata common in the rest of WA.
It is tending its bower which was in the middle of Yardie Creek on a small island!This is the male and you can see the erectile pink crest on the nape.

Normally dense bush generally dry country but near water
