Western Weka 'australis'
I was lucky that this fellow popped out of the undergrowth 8 feet away at a scenic viewing point in NZ
Location
New Zealand
Scientific name
Gallirallus australis
Equipment used
camcorder
Good close up and well spotted - it’s always a nice surprise when rails and crakes pop out of reed beds!
