This is my first sighting of this species and I was happy to get an open shot. A very cool bird for sure!

Thanks Gunter, Mali, and Graham for looking and for commenting. I loved the way this bird flew away not far from his perch to catch a flying insect and return to the same perch--several times in a row. Gave me several chances and a few different poses to choose from.
 
Awesome shot! I always have difficulty in ID flycatchers. I got one of this guy 3 days ago and only had it ID by an expert birding friens.
 
Thanks eastwood! My daughter helped ID this one for me! I went back to the same location today and didn't see any more of these Pewee's. Hope to soon though!
