Wet feet...
Superb Fairy Wren (male, breeding plumage).

He took his bath in slow stages - first, wet the feet...

Dense low cover with areas of short green grass; coastal heaths; riverside thickets; bracken; understorey of forests, woodlands; marshes, wetland plants over water.

Maybe the water is too cold to plunge directly... I do exactly the same in the beach! ;) :'D He is an amazing bird, the shinning feathers look like fluorescent in the dim light of the pool. Marvelous bird and shot, Rose, thanks for this post! :t: :t:
 
Why don't birds like this come down to the water in my garden?

I love the colors of the #1 male fairy wren. Well caught Rose!
 
I am a little fairy wren and they call me Superb,
you can find me at Roses pool, but also on the Kerb.
If I want to glitter I have to stay Neat,
so I have to wash more than just my Feet. ;)
