More than likely a leg tucked away somewhere, Delia, although I took various pictures and on each one there is only one leg visible. 'Not impossible for a bird to lose a leg and adapt!

Indeed it isn't Paul. I've seen many birds (particularly on the coasts) missing a foot or leg.

Whether caused by piratical skuas or fishing nets/lines I don't know. But they all seem to manage and even raise young.
