What is this? (unknown)

What kind of crab is this (or is it a mouse?), I am assuming it is a crab because it moved like a crab. It was about six inches across and I suspect it has been eating pigeons in my yard. It secreted red liquid, but flew away before I could get another picture.

That looks like a tarantula spider to me. They can get positively HUGE, even bigger than your 6-incher here. But did it *really* fly away? ;)

It kinda looks like a mouse to most people, but I think it is a Philipino furry backed crab spider. Some people keep them as pets until they get too big. They have been known to attack and eat pigeon. You are lucky to see them fly, they usually only do that at night. Pigeon murder is typical of this species. Red liquid is common.

Hope that helps.

Rich.
