What way to shoot Wheatear?

These 2 new shots are the same bird same place just taken at different angles. This one i'm kneeling down, still quite a low profile but as you can see much more of the pebbles are showing.

Please take a look at both shots and let me know what one you like best.

Hi Nigel

I reckon inbetween :) so reckon you need to go back, ha!
No seriously they are both great shots, but I believe always best to shoot at eye level.

On another note, i will be visiting Cley in 2 weeks, are the rock pools at Salthouse no good now?

Sorry to say no waders as yet, was there on wed and nothing, not good mate. It may happen but there are usually some by now, loads at Cley but you cant get close to them there.

Cheers. " I reckon inbetween " LOL

Two beautiful images Nigel. I think I prefer this one as I feel the colour of the pebbles really complements those of the bird. I also like to see photos of birds in relation to their natural settings. Just my humble opinion. They are both stunning images.

2 great shots nigel, personally I prefer this one, more of a natural setting:t:

Two great captures, but this one is more effective, the blurred foreground in the other one was more distracting (perhaps both are a bit too tight IMO)

Two great shots Nigel. Really like the background with the soft colors almost matching the bird. Well done.
