Where was it ringed? (Larus marinus)

On a grey sunday afternoon I went for a walk along the coastal path starting from Larmor-Baden ,a small harbour tucked inside the gulf. We had had a severe storm during the previous twenty-four hours. I noticed this gull on the pier because it was ringed and I took a record shot of it. The ring reads 4:GBW. Does it mean it was ringed somewhere in Britain ? I would very much like to know. And as I don't know much about gulls I hope I am right in assuming it is a lesser black-backed.

Larmor-Baden ,golfe du Morbihan ,Brittany

Larus marinus

I am sure if you report it to the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) they will tell you where it was ringed and who to report it to.

A super picture of this big boy Joelle. I struggle with young gulls and need a handy adult nearby to help out LOL.

Apart from the BTO, there's also an organisation called eu-ring I think, who may be able to help.

Please let us know if you hear anything.
