I can't quite remember whether it was Alex or June first spotted the Whistling Kite on the beach.

In order for me to try and get a picture (we needed that to try and get the ID!), I had to pile up some some paving slabs to stand on (on tiptoes), so I could see over the fence.

Then I had to wait for a gap between the neighbour's whirly dryer arms to pass, even then the strings on it were in the frame!

I think he's just about identifiable now in this heavily cropped image.
