Had to google this and read up on it. I thought the white-breasted ones were just young Great Cormorants. That's still typically true in Europe, and there's some discussion whether the White-breasteds are a sub-species or a species in their own right. I'll have to check my old photos now to see if I have a new "armchair tick"
