White-crowned Sparrow (I think)
I had trouble deciding which species this bird was with upside down feeded pose. I was leaning toward Chipping sparrow but some one more knowledgeable than I thinks White-crowned. In any event, it cared a lot more about getting nectar than about my proximity.
Habitat
salt water estuary
Location
San Elijo Lagoon, Cardiff, California
Date taken
2-15-2013
Scientific name
Zonotrichia leucophrys
Equipment used
Canon T2i, Tamron 200-500 lens
I'm still not sure about this one. Both the chipping and the wht-crowned have a more grayish back. Wonder if it could be a song sparrow? Maybe you should post this in the identification section.
