White-eared Jacamar (Galbalcyrhynchus leucotis)

This species looks more like a Kingfisher than a Jacamar. Unlike a kingfisher, this species forages like a typical Jacamar, flycatching from a perch. The distinct white ear patches distinguish this species from the similar Purus Jacamar which replaces it south of the Rio Ucayali. The two are sometimes considered conspecific.
