White-faced Heron.

White-faced Heron. (Ardea novaehollandiae)

I am not sure whether this Heron is just resting or is on a nest. I always thought they nested in trees. This bird was only a few metres from the road with dozens of cars and trucks passing by all day long.

Well, I thought herons nested colonially in trees too Dick. Strange one that.

A super picture though, any chance of you being able to solve the mystery for us?
