White-tailed kite peeking through branch

White-tailed kite peeking through branch (Elanus leucurus)

Maybe he thinks he's well hidden behind that branch?

This is an extreme crop on the A7RIV from 60MP down to 0.6MP (756x756px). Pretty impressive detail.

Sony A7RIV, 400mm f/2.8, monopod, 1/1600, f/2.8, ISO 125. Cropped from 9504x6336 to only 756x756, a 10.6x crop for an effective focal length 4256mm.

I used center focus and it seems to have done a great job getting the right stuff in focus. Though at this distance with only 400mm, there's probably a pretty good depth of field.
