White Tern

White Tern (Gygis alba)

Ex Cyclone Uesi has passed directly over Lord Howe Island dislodging many White Tern chicks from their branches where the parent directly lays and hatches the egg . At the moment people are picking these up and returning them from where they fell so that the parents are able to find them at a later time .

Oh dear... how desperately sad for them. I hope the parents are successfully reunited with the youngsters. It's pleasing to hear that there's people there helping them.

This is a gorgeous picture of a beautiful tern Ken - many thanks for showing it to us lad and for the information too.
