Willow Tit
Sadly Willow Tits are on the RSPB's 'red list' as their numbers have continued to decline. It is estimated that there are now only around 3400 breeding pairs in the UK. Compare that to the Blue Tit's 3.6 million breeding pairs and you can see that these little guys are thinly spread!

Many thanks as always for your kind comments this week. Have a good week-end.

Yes, I was hearing about their decline a few days ago.... loss of habitat, particularly for their nests, a major cause I think.

A super picture you've got of this one Brian - very well done.

A lovely close up study, Brian. Such a shame they are on the red list.

It is a superb image Brian, excellent detail. I agree, they are getting harder and harder to find and it is lucky they still appear at Pennington. A brilliant job, they are very quick more often than not they are in one of those cages

Always a sad thing when our bird life declines. If only we could wave a magic wand.

This is a beautiful image Brian and fingers crossed that their numbers get better.
