Willow Tit
Sadly Willow Tits are on the RSPB's 'red list' as their numbers have continued to decline. It is estimated that there are now only around 3400 breeding pairs in the UK. Compare that to the Blue Tit's 3.6 million breeding pairs and you can see that these little guys are thinly spread!

Many thanks as always for your kind comments this week. Have a good week-end.

So sad to hear! We've got about that many just in the woods around our cabin. There they outnumber the Blue Tits, although there are plenty of those as well and here in the garden it's the other way around - loads of Blue Tits and Great Tits, and almost none of their cousins. However, I do think that in Norway too, as a whole, numbers of even the most common birds are falling at an alarming rate, mostly due to habitat loss apparently.

Really super photograph Brian. What a sad state of affairs, why is it with this Tit???
Dick.

Sad to hear about their diminishing numbers. Wonderful close up shot, Brian!! tfs.

What a superb shot of this beauty. Great detail and composition. Excellent capture

A beautiful portrait with fine detail, Brian. The bird looks much like our Black-capped.

A beautifully detailed capture.
Hope their population will increase. Habitat loss, breeding behaviour/variations, natural enemies, ... I can not give an answer.
