Willow Warbler

Taken on Beacon Fell
Well I just got some wrong in the ID forum so with some trepidation ..... I'd say this is a Chiffchaff. Dark legs, short super and plain cheeks.... for what it's worth...:)

Think you may be wrong here as well, there was not a chiff chaff sound at all, which can not be mistaken if you hear one, so im sticking with Willow Warbler, lets see what others say

Well if you heard it sing like a WW then I agree - but CC do make other calls than the standard as you probably know...

Then the ID forum is the place ... 'cos it also looks short winged in the other photo, although the angle isn't perfect. No substitute for seeing, and hearing, it in real life though... and clearly you did and I didn't!

No need for the ID forum, surely thats for birds that you cant ID, i know this one is a Willow Warbler

Ray - not sure what you mean by that. I doubt you mean that you think I'm Right!
This is a Bird Forum, a forum about birds, where people try to help and encourage others about their birding, and their photography. Not a challenge match. I apologise if I have offended in any way - and they're your photos - so you label them as you want. If you don't want comments then don't post photos. If you don't want anyone to query your ID's then say so. As I said there is no substitute for seeing and hearing the bird yourself, and if you saw and heard enough to convince you then so be it. I was trying to help, not score points. I may well be wrong as I also said, but let's not get things out of perspective please.

M Tem, I dont know why you are persisting with this, i havnt put my Willow Warbler in the ID forum, surely posts like yours should be saved for the ID forum

Well Ray if you don't know, then I certainly don't. I offered an opinion, with my reasons for doing so, in an effort to be helpful. I do this whenever, and to whoever, and appreciate it when others do it to me. This is how I think we learn. Clearly not received as such, for reasons that still baffle me. Consider yourself left alone ....

A lovely setting for these two images of a beautifully captured Willow Warbler Ray.
