Winter Visitors (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos)

White Pelicans feeding at St. Marks NWR, Florida.
They migrate from as far north as the uppermost reaches of central and western Canada. I have seen them in flight before but never on the ground feeding. Most striking, they are very large. When I first saw them, thought they were some kind of swan (LOL) Posted yesterday too but this pic shows bill expanded.

Another wonderful picture you've taken of these pelicans - they do have very large pouches, don't they.

Very well done DD and thanks for sharing them with us.

Such a well focused and lit behavioural shot.
