Wompoo Fruit-Dove
This large spectacular fruit-dove tends to sit quietly high in the forest canopy where, despite its deep purple, green and yellow colors, it blends in with the foliage. They are named for their vocalizations. Birds in this area are the race "P. m. puella", which is the smallest and has a deeper colored breast than other races. Sometimes called Magnificent Fruit-Dove or Purple-breasted Fruit-Dove. Formerly included in the genus "Megaloprepia".

I love this series of pigeons you are doing. Years ago I made a clipping file of bird photos from magazines and old books, and I came to the conclusion that given their diversity and beauty, pigeons were the most under-published of birds.
