Wood Pigeon
Do they always walk like that, planting one foot directly in front of the other? Looks quite elegant for a large bird LOL.

The sun sometimes shone between snow showers that day.

I've just lost a Starling to a cat from that roof!

A lovely Woody Delia, yes, that's how they walk, & they always look well fed, shame about the Starling.

Great shot Delia, mine walk like that too, catwalk style eh LOL.

As for the cat, use a cat deterrent powder.

A super shot ... great setting with all that 'Snow & Sun' ... wonderful sharing ...
Thank you for mentioning the Video Upload, Delia ... my very first ... and after that, feeling very encouraged, I went ahead and uploaded one on the female of the same species, showing lovely courtship behavior and vocalization ... this species is an example of reverse sexual dimorphism ...
Regards ...
P.S.
I have many hundred video clips lying in my archives... posted nowhere ... think, it is time to do justice to them ...

A lovely Woodie capture, Delia. I just checked out the four walking around my garden at the moment and can confirm they do walk like that !!! Sorry to hear about the starling casualty. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes.
