Excellent shot. Those of us in lower latitudes seldom see these in icy conditions.

This is true, when people think of birding, I can imagine that ice and cold are not the first image that they think of. Like the beautiful downy woodpecker that is hanging out in the snowy tree in my yard.
 
Taken at the end of may and has just arrived i guess,nice to see a picture from way up north and the weather they are faced with.
