Wood Stork
Wood Stork (Mycteria americana) imposing by size but not by beauty. Although, the old saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder always holds true. Posing in front of a stand of black mangrove.
Habitat
Southern portion of the Gulf Coast and Marshes vegetational area, shallow pass connecting the Brownsville ship channel to Bahia Grande. Edge of the pass with patches of black mangrove swamps and surrounding area of lomas and flats covered by Tamaulipan thornscrub.
Location
Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp along TX 48, southwest of Port Isabel, Cameron County, Texas, USA.
