Woodies in Backyard Trees (Dryocopus pileatus)

I have had a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers visiting my backyard off and on for a while now. So when these two showed up making quite a racket this Am thought it was the pair but on closer inspection of the not real great photos I got I realized it was 2 males. I would guess they are probably fiarly young birds. They were high up in one of the trees so I ran up to my upstairs bathroom and lowered the screen and shot from up there to get a bit closer. I hope that they will keep coming around so I can get some better shots of them as they are quite stunning birds.

Lucky you Ken. Mine disappear during the breeding season and don't come back into the yard until the Fall. I hear them all year long but just don't get to see them during the breeding season.

This might be pop and son you've got there.

Wow, Ken, two PWs in one shot, and two males at that. Keep up the good work. I missed this post earlier.
