Working on dinner
This sow is chasing salmon and had three cubs waiting for her on the bank. Thanks to a long lens and heavy cropping of the image, I was quite safe and a good deal farther away than the photo makes it seem.

Date taken
7-20-2009

Ursus arctos

Wow, so glad you explained this one! Seems to me you have one like this where you're fairly close to the animal. Love this in motion shot-well done!

Cooooer... this is a brilliant action shot (though I was fearing for your safety until you explained yourself Donald ;))

A wonderful capture.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Vicki - You're correct. I have one of a boar grizzly in the same area that was foraging along a stream and came into my view when he was only about ten yards from me. Since I had my truck right beside me with the door open, I took a couple of photos and he ignored me completely. This was on an earlier trip and the technical apspects of the image are not nearly good enough for me to display. I was still learning that new camera and almost none of the shots I got were of very good quality, technically, on that trip.

Terrific photo of a lovely mother bear in action! One can feel the excitment, action, energy of the moment! Must have been quite a thrill getting this photo! Thanks for including us in the fun!
